In the gay scene, alcohol and drugs are sometimes hard to avoid. We are available to help if you feel you are consuming too many drugs, too much alcohol or medication and can help you find a way to overcome the daily struggle of living with addiction.

Our services are available to everyone who believes they are struggling with drugs, alcohol or other substances. Sex, the internet and gambling are also topics of addiction which we can help you with. With us, we offer a safe environment where you can discuss the positives and negatives of dealing with compulsive behaviour.

After successfully detoxing, it is possible to continue your outpatient treatment with us which lasts up to one and a half years. In addition to individual and group meeting sessions, there are also moderated group relaxation therapy sessions available. Schwulenberatung Berlin will assist you in applying to your social insurance provider for coverage of costs. All our group therapy sessions are scheduled for the evenings, in order for them to fit in with your possible professional engagements. Friends and next of kin are also invited to attend our sessions.

Gay men often combine the use of crystal meth and other stimulating drugs with sex. In these so-called chemsex sessions, users feel invincible, euphoric, and capable of engaging in long-lasting sexual encounters over many days, often with multiple sex partners. As a result, the sense of risk assessment decreases, often leading to unprotected sex which can cause HIV or hepatitis infections. Other side effects include paranoia and severe depression.
In our counseling sessions we offer to talk about the problems of using crystal meth and how to find a way out. Furthermore, we offer a drop-in group called „Party, Sex und Drogen.“ To attend this group all you need is an awareness that you have a problem with using crystal meth. We can also refer gay men who are trying to beat this addiction to a professional outpatient or inpatient programme.

After an inpatient treatment, it is possible to participate for up to one year in our outpatient programme. Sessions mainly take place in a group setting. Additional private meetings are available based on the individual needs of the patient.
