Our counseling centre of inter* and trans* people as well as their families supports those with questions about gender and gender identity as well as the separate definitions of queer self-descriptions. At the Schwulenberatung Berlin, you will find a place where we accept you for exactly who you are and who you would like to be – whether that is inter*, trans*, or queer. We offer you the time and space to voice all of your questions. We also offer the opportunity for next of kin, friends, parents and partners to learn and have us answer their questions. At our counseling centre we have colleagues across the board who identify as inter*, trans* or queer. They use their personal as well as professional and therapeutic experience to help our visitors. We advise on personal, social, psychological, medical and legal issues regarding gender and gender identity. Whether that be about physical changes, name changes or civil status. We can also help with experiences of discrimination, conflicts in family or partnership as well as psychiatric problems. We specialise in dealing with parents and families who are facing raising an inter* child, in an otherwise gendered environment. If you feel like you could benefit from further assistance such as in assisted living, running a household or finding employment as someone who identifies as queer, perhaps our assisted living (Betreutes Einzelwohnen) is right for you. We also offer information and education events for professionals. |
